overview

Our interactive WorksafeReps initial training workshop for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs). The workshop is run over 2 consecutive days with between 6-12 learners, and includes your Unit Standard 29315 assessment. You'll learn all about your role as an HSR and where to go for support. You'll gain the knowledge and skills you need to carry out your worker representative functions. After the workshop you'll be able to describe good health and safety practice in NZ workplaces and explain people's duties and obligations. HSRs who pass the assessment on Day 2 will have the power to direct the cessation of unsafe work and issue a Provisional Improvement Notice as per the legislation. Assessment: You'll work through scenario-based questions in small groups, submitting agreed written responses for marking. You'll be using your course manual and the legislation to develop correct answers. We mark your progress using the Open Polytechnic's iQualify platform throughout the day. NOTE: * For this workshop we usually recommend a printed copy of your course manual because of the assessment day. You can buy this through me (pre-paid) if you're booking more than 2 weeks in advance. * If you already hold Unit Standard 29315 you don't have to repeat this course, even if you've changed employers. Come to my Workplace Leaders H&S workshop instead :) * I ask for any learning or accessibility needs (in confidence) when you book. You're welcome to book a free chat before your workshop, for any reason.
