Benefit from my 15+ years of experience as a PSA union organiser & educator and my postgraduate workplace Health & Safety qualification. I'm particularly skilled at building worker engagement, participation and representation to improve health and safety outcomes at work. My clients include: * people in HR or H&S roles * people with management responsibilities * people who work for unions * elected worker representatives (including HSRs and union delegates). Use me as a confidential external support to help you - explore challenges you're facing in your role - develop an effective worker engagement/organising plan for H&S issues - reflect on issues relating to workplace hazard management* - consider the relationship between H&S and collective bargaining / industrial relations - plan a useful approach to health & safety education If you've got something specific you'd like to explore, add a note to your booking for me. You're in good hands and I'd love to work with you. I understand the potential and boundaries of great representation and advocacy. I also appreciate the dynamics of building effective engagement and trust without sufficient resource or power. And I know how to build effective and ethical relationships with allies. After our third session I'll ask whether you're interested in forming a formal supervision arrangement. Supervision is a more formal and relational process of professional support and learning through a non-managerial relationship. There's no obligation: I offer this as an option for those who want structured development support. Payment is by invoice after our session. Some employers will pay/reimburse the cost of your session (ask first, and check whether you can attend in paid work time). * I'm a member of the NZ Institute of Safety Management but I'm not an H&S consultant. Like any good practitioner I'm aware of and open about the limits of my H&S competence. I can help you find a qualified HASANZ-registered consultant, or an appropriate trainer for specific skills/hazards.
