group guidance sessions

The perfect balance between formal training and individual support.

Relaxed style

Explore issues, trouble-shoot sticking points, or just get some fresh ideas. Add a note to your booking if you want to ensure we explore something specific.

Your team, together

Meet on any online platform. Encourage people to join from their own space and bring their ideas. These sessions work well for 2-10 people at a time.

Boost curiosity

I help you build a 'community of inquiry'.  While we'll usually explore whatever most people are most interested in, there's always space for curly questions and educative challenge.

Let's get the team together

I'm an experienced facilitator, able to lead an interactive discussion that supports your team. Sessions work best when people join from separate devices. If you're sharing devices or all in the same room, we might not all be able to hear or see each other clearly.

My combined employment relations experience and health & safety knowledge means I'm comfortable discussing a broad range of areas. I always abide by the NZISM and ELINZ codes of ethics.

I particularly love helping teams boost worker participation, engagement and representation in health & safety or grappling with definitions and frameworks. I'm good at 'translating' health & safety-speak into real world language. Here's the kinds of issues I've helped teams with:

  • defining what healthy and safe work means for the people in your team

  • finding relevant and credible tools and resources from NZ and overseas

  • uncovering workers' insights and attitudes toward real (or imagined!) work practice

  • identifying psychosocial hazards so you can make work mentally healthy

  • deploying the modified hierarchy of controls for psychosocial hazards

  • exploring what can we eliminate, control, or influence even if we're not 'in charge'

  • foundation-level discussion of specific workplace hazards and risk management options

  • using employment policies and agreements to surpass the limits of ACC

  • ensuring worker participation agreements add real value (e.g., AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009)
  • using correct/useful health and safety terms without creating more jargon

  • moving from 'safety work' (reporting/paperwork) into actually improving the safety of work

If you're wanting something more formal I have access to several great courses that aren't advertised on our websites. Book a free consultation to talk more.
