group workshops

Union-backed courses
WorksafeReps courses are developed by experienced educators like me. We're backed by unions and have been delivering worker-centric H&S training since 2003.
Online and interactive
Interactive Zoom workshops suit many people and are cost-effective. You'll be collaborating with others, so you'll need appropriate technology to make it work.

Open to all
In my open workshops you'll build supportive connections with all types of people from other NZ workplaces. Or, with enough people, I can run workshops for your group/sector.

Prefer to work at your own pace? Check our solo e-learning options.
workshop tech check
A suitable computer
A desktop or laptop, with web cam and audio (microphone & speakers). A second monitor is always useful. All workshops are interactive and you'll be working with others throughout the day.
Zoom & internet
All sessions run on Zoom. Join from a browser, or install the free app for better connectivity. I keep things simple and engaging. You'll want good internet access.
your own space
Join alone from a calm and comfortable room. If your workmates are coming your workshop too, join from separate spaces on separate devices. I'll set up virtual groups for us to learn together.
your course manual
I send pdf course resources 5 days before our workshop. With 30-70 pages, our course manuals are essential tools during your workshop and beyond. We highly recommend working with a printed copy, especially for initial HSR training.
optional extra:
buy printed resources through me
If you don't have full printing & binding facilities at work, I can send copies at cost price + postage & packaging.
Once you're booked for a workshop, order your colour-printed & bound WorksafeReps course manual through me.

my 'worksense' approach to health & safety training
Everyone deserves great H&S training
Quality H&S training doesn't need to be expensive.
My low fees and super-flexible policies help you focus on what's important.
Come to training whenever you’re most ready to learn.
Good H&S systems involve all of us
H&S systems should work for everyone. We need a lot more diversity in H&S to ensure we cover everyone's needs and incorporate people-first perspectives.
I support your learning support needs. Tell me what works for you.
Good H&S training is about real life
Our training explores realistic scenarios so you can apply your new knowledge in ways you'll actually use at work.
You'll share your ideas about your own workplace (in confidence) and build a good plan for your next steps.
Good H&S is about
more than the rules
We cover the legislation you need to know, but I also help you apply resources to your own workplace.
I'll connect you to frameworks & principles not contained in law and offer confidential guidance sessions for extra support.
Good H&S training is worker-centric
Effective worker engagement, participation & representation improves health and safety outcomes.
I share my union-organising insights to help you figure out your own approach and find guidance to support you.
Good H&S leaders build trust
I build advocacy and leadership skills for ethical cooperation. A big part of that is understanding other people's roles and functions.
H&S is complex and we all have important roles to play. Let me help you find your space.
